Medicinal Mushroom Extract Powder
We are proud to offer an extensive selection of high quality medicinal mushroom mycelial extract powders. Mycelial extract powders are essentially a mushroom "superfood", primarily consisting of the mycelium (white vegetative growth) of each medicinal mushroom species. Mycelium based extract powders are generally considered to be more potent than powders derived solely from mushroom caps. This is because the mycelium is much more thoroughly broken down than the mushroom caps during the extraction process, therefor releasing more bioavailable medicinal constituents into the final product. Please note that while our extracts contain extracted compounds from both the mushroom caps and the mycelium of each species, the primary ingredient is the mycelium. While the mycelium contains medicinal compounds unique to each species, the overall appearance of the mycelium is very consistent from species to species. As a result, there are only subtle differences in color and flavor between species in the resulting extract powder.
All of our extracts contain no fillers, and are rich in the polysaccharides, arabinoxylans, and triterpenes that have an array of scientifically established medicinal benefits including immune system stimulation and tumor inhibition. With medicinal mushroom extracts, the beneficial compounds have already been made bio-available by the extraction process. This means you can simply add the powder (1 tsp. twice daily) to food or drink for an effective medicinal dose, or even make your own capsules at a fraction of the cost charged by many of our competitors. Each teaspoon of our potent extract contains 2.5 g. of mycelium and fruitbody, equal to five 500 mg. capsules.
OUR PROCESS: We begin by growing specially selected vigorous strains of each medicinal mushroom species on U.S.A-grown organic non-GMO white sorghum. The sorghum is not an additive, rather it is the nutritious base on which the mushroom mycelium is grown. We use sorghum because recent mycomedicinal research has indicated that sorghum is digested more thoroughly by mushroom mycelium than other grains that are typically used in cultivation. The goal, after all, in producing quality mycelial extracts is to end up with as much mycelium and as little residual grain as possible in the final product. This state of maximum mycelial density, often with mushrooms beginning to form in-vitro, is termed "super-colonization". By using perfectly prepared sorghum and our specially selected mushroom strains, each of our extract units become super-colonized with a uniquely dense mycelial mat that, when extracted, creates a uniquely potent final product.
Next, each super-colonized extract unit is blended with ground mature mushroom fruitbodies (caps) of each individual medicinal species prior to the extraction process (with the exception of C. sinensis, which is mycelium only). This is important because research has shown that with some mushrooms, primary medicinal constituents are actually concentrated in the mature mushrooms themselves, not the mycelium.
Finally, each unit undergoes our proprietary extraction process which breaks down the chitin in the mycelial cell walls and frees the medicinal constituents from the mycelium and ground fruitbodies. The result is a highly bioavailable and medicinally potent final product with a high beta-glucan content. The extract is then heat sterilized, dried, powdered, and packaged.
Because our extracts contain all available medicinal constituents from the entire life cycle of each individual mushroom species, they are considered a "Full Spectrum" product, the gold standard of today's medicinal mushroom supplements.

ALSO, WHEN GROWING WHOLE GRAINS SUCH AS OUR SORGHUM IN ORGANIC FIELDS, THERE IS ALWAYS THE CHANCE OF "ORPHAN" PLANTS OF OTHER WHOLE GRAINS WHICH MAY CONTAIN GLUTEN BEING HARVESTED AS WELL. THEREFORE, TRACE AMOUNTS OF THESE GRAINS MAY BE PRESENT IN THE SORGHUM WE USE FOR OUR EXTRACT.
SUGGESTED USE: 1 tsp. TWICE DAILY AS A MAINTENANCE DOSE, 1 tbsp. TWICE DAILY FOR AN ACCUTE CONDITION. 1 lb. OF EXTRACT WILL LAST APPROXIMATELY 67 DAYS AT MAINTENANCE DOSE LEVELS, AND APPROXIMATELY 23 DAYS AT ACCUTE DOSE LEVELS.
